Workshops 2024


Professional, Semi- Professional, Enthusiast, or Beginner photographers are welcome.  My workshops are extremely limited in size.  This maximizes the amount of time I can spend with each photographer. 

2024 Workshops

Winter on the Jersey Shore  January 4-7, 2024

Spend three days shooting along the New Jersey shore, or as we like to say, “down the shore.” We will travel from mid central New Jersey to the southern tip of Cape May.  Sunrise and sunset opportunities along the coast, and in the wetlands of this amazing natural landscapes.  Daytime excursions to Wildwood, NJ, Atlantic City, Ventnor City, Long Beach Island, East Point, Cape May, and Barnegat Lighthouses.  We will spend time developing landscape capturing skills in both color and black and white.  The use of filters, long exposure, and composition.  The workshop is open to all skill levels, and both digital and analog photographers are welcome.  Recommended gear along with your camera, a tripod, wide angle lens, mid range zoom lenses, (24-70 and 70-300), and filters.  The workshop has three spaces open, providing ample time for one on one mentoring.  If arriving from out of state, the best airport to fly into is Philadelphia.  Airfare, accommodations, and food are the responsibility of the attendees.  There will be a welcoming get to know dinner that is included in the workshop cost.  The cost per person $700.

Sparta, Mystras, and the Mani  March 15-20, 2024

Five days experiencing the central and southeastern parts of the Peloponnese.  We will visit the Lakonia capital of Sparta, the heights of the Byzantium fortress of Mystras above the Spartan plains.  Our travels will take us deep into the Mani region, one of the most fortifiable regions in the world.  Ending our tour in the medieval town of Monemvasia offering stunning sea views and stone mansions all within the fortified city.  This tour is limited to four people.  The opportunities for landscape and street photography will appeal to all photographer skill sets.  Sparta is a three hour drive from Athens.  We will meet in Athens on the 15th and head to Sparta, returning via vehicle on the 20th to Athens from Monemvasia.  Cost for this tour is $3000.  Airfare, and hotel accommodations are not covered.  Meals will be covered by the cost of this tour.

Crete, Greece    October 17-24 , 2024

Seven days touring the island of Crete for some of the most iconic island images one can imagine.  Starting in Iraklion, we will travel to Knossos, the ancient Minoan capital city.  From there we will head south through the mountain villages of Crete.Working our way west along the southern route of Crete, before turning and heading northward to the Venetian city of Chania.  Using this city as a base, we will head further west to the beaches of Falasama, and the surrounding countryside of the White Mountains.  Landscape and street photography will be at the fore front of this work shop.  The trip will originate in Iraklion and departures will be from the city of Chania.  This workshop will be limited to six people and the cost per person will be $3500.  Van transportation will be included in the workshop fee.  Transportation, accommodations, and food will be the responsibility of the work shop participants.  There will be a farewell dinner included in the cost.   

Athens October 26-29 , 2024

Spend four day shooting street in Athens.  We will be visiting several different neighborhoods in Athens, from the Plaka, Psyri, Monastiriki, Gazi, Kolonaki, and the anarchist neighborhood of Exarchia. But, best of all on March 25th is Greek Independence Day, the parade is like none other you’ve ever experienced.  Evzones marching, military hardware, and a colorful audience to capture.  It will be a highlight of your street experience.  The days and nights will be split into various assignments, with time to regroup, and discuss the days outings along with reviewing images taken.  This workshop will critique each photographers work, with the idea of creating a portfolio, supporting a project idea, and to learn how to create stories from the field.  The workshop seeks to spark your creativity through street photography in one of the most enduring cities in the world - Athens.  Airfare, hotel, and meals are at the participants expense.  There will be a welcoming dinner and an outing to one of the best bars in the world.  Since this is street photography, the requirement for gear will be one camera and a single lens.  Prime lens is preferable over a zoom.  Bring an iPad or laptop to review and save your images.  Tripods are not necessary.  Itineraries will be emailed 30 days prior to departure with a recommendation of places to stay.  Cost per person is $1400

Iceland     November 2-9, 2024

I will be offering a workshop to Iceland which will focus on landscape, northern lights, and a day of street shooting in Reykjavik.  The dates of the workshop are December 2 through the 9th.  The primary focus is to experience the northern part of Iceland.  We will travel north to the Snæfellsnes peninsula, from there to Akureyri, Lake Mývatn, and a variety of waterfalls including Dettifoss where the film Prometheus was filmed.    There are currently two spots open for this workshop.  Please contact me directly through my email address if you are interested in attending.  Those attending will be responsible for their own airfare, hotel, and meals. Transportation will be provided and a welcome dinner.  You will need to bring a camera, wide angle lens, mid telephoto lens, and a prime lens.  Laptop or iPad to review your images in the evening.  Itineraries will be emailed 30 days prior to departure with a recommendation of places to stay.  Cost per person is $4000.
